Nearby Castles

Discover the route of the Dunajec castles. The Dunajec Castle in Niedzica and the Czorsztyn Castle sit in an incredible setting. Two castles stand on opposite banks, with waters of Czorsztyn Lake flowing between them. Visit the Pieniny Castle ruins, famous for its defence of St. Kinga against the Mongol invasion.

Rafting the Dunajec River

Looking for adventure? Take a trip down the Dunajec River on a traditional raft and listen to the legend of Janosik with your children. Those who are on the adrenaline rush and their souls are as crazy as the Dunajec river can challange rafting or kayaking.

Autumn Shepherding

One of the oldest traditions in the region - thousands of sheep returning from grazing, led through the streets of Szczawnica by their herdsmen - shepherds accompanied by shepherd dogs and highlander melodies.

Highlands Specialities

Straight from a mountain hut comes regional speciality called oscypek. It is the traditional smoked cheese made of salted sheep milk. For centuries, the tradition of making oscypek has been passed down from father to son. Just fall in love with its taste!
